1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the websites, student portal, administrative systems, and related digital services (collectively, the "Services") provided by Bangladesh University of Business and Technology ("BUBT", "we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

2. Eligibility & Accounts

Access to the student portal and related systems is generally limited to admitted students, faculty, staff, and authorized personnel of BUBT. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials;
• All activity that occurs under your account;
• Notifying the university immediately of any unauthorized use of your account; and
• Providing accurate and up-to-date information during admission and throughout your studies.

3. Acceptable Use

When using the Services, you agree that you will not:

• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, system, or data not belonging to you;
• Upload, transmit, or distribute any harmful, unlawful, defamatory, or infringing content;
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Services (including any attempt to probe, scan, or test system vulnerabilities);
• Use the Services for any commercial purpose unrelated to your academic or administrative activities at BUBT; or
• Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with BUBT.

Violation of this section may result in suspension of access and/or disciplinary action under applicable university policy.

4. Academic Integrity

Use of the student portal — including course registration, examination-related features, and submission of academic requests — is subject to BUBT's academic policies, including rules against plagiarism, unauthorized collaboration, and misrepresentation of academic records. Any breach of academic integrity identified through use of the Services will be handled under the university's disciplinary procedures.

5. Applications & Requests

Features such as Course Drop, Semester Drop, and other student applications allow you to submit administrative requests electronically. Submitting a request through the portal does not guarantee approval — all such requests remain subject to review and approval by the relevant academic office in accordance with university policy and any applicable deadlines or eligibility rules.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on the Services — including but not limited to the BUBT name and logo, text, graphics, course materials, and software — is the property of BUBT or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from this content without prior written permission, except as necessary for your own personal academic use.

7. Availability & Disclaimer

We aim to keep the Services available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, and the Services may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, upgrades, or circumstances beyond our control. The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BUBT shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Services, including but not limited to loss of data or missed deadlines due to technical issues. You are encouraged to keep independent records of important submissions and deadlines.

9. Suspension & Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Services, without prior notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, applicable university policy, or the law. Your access will also generally end upon graduation, withdrawal, or separation from the university, subject to university policy on continued access to academic records.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dhaka, Bangladesh.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date on this page. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
